Ultra Soft Nutella Rolls

These Ultra Soft Nutella Rolls are a delightful treat, featuring a fluffy dough filled with rich Nutella. Easy to prepare and bake, they make for a perfect dessert or breakfast option that everyone will enjoy!

  • Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk warmed to 110°f (44°c)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter room temperature and cubed
  • 1 1/4 cups nutella
  • 1/2 cup melted nutella extra, optional

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to 110°F, then stir in the yeast and 1/2 tbsp sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Check the yeast to make sure it’s active; if it doesn’t foam, it won't rise properly.
  3. In a large bowl, sift the flour and mix in the salt and sugar. Add the cubed butter and blend until the mixture resembles small pebbles.
  4. Gently beat the eggs and mix them with the yeast mixture in a stand mixer. Mix with a dough hook on low speed, then change to medium to knead for 5 minutes.
  5. If the dough is too sticky, wait a minute before adding more flour; it usually comes together on its own.
  6. Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise in a warm (off) oven for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Warm the Nutella in the microwave for about 15 seconds and spread it evenly over the dough.
  9. Roll the dough from the short edge to form a log, then slice into 12 rolls using a serrated knife or dental floss for a clean cut.
  10. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch pan, cover them and let them rise again for 30 minutes to 1 hour until slightly puffed.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 23–27 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  12. Optional: Spread or drizzle melted Nutella over the warm rolls.

Notes

Make sure the milk is not too hot, as it can kill the yeast.
If using dental floss to cut the dough, ensure it is unflavored for best results.
