  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water or milk
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar

Instructions

  • Pulse flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor.
  • Add butter and pulse until resembling coarse meal.
  • Mix egg yolks, ice water, and vanilla, add to processor, and pulse until clumping.
  • Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  • Cook fillings in a saucepan until thickened.
  • Roll out dough and prepare the pie crust.
  • Fill with cooled berry filling, then add star-shaped top crust.
  • Bake at 375°F for 50-60 minutes.
  • Cool for at least 3 hours before serving.

Notes

Use cold butter and water for a flaky crust.
