Sticky Honey Harissa Chicken offers irresistible flavors with tender chicken coated in a spicy-sweet sauce. A simple yet delicious dish that makes for a quick dinner, perfect for any occasion!

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless chicken breasts or thighs cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons flour or gluten-free flour
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 cup harissa sauce or 2 tablespoons harissa paste
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons dried chives
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chicken with smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add flour and mix well. Coat the chicken with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and spread it evenly on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  3. While the chicken bakes, prepare the sauce by melting the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in harissa sauce, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Season with salt and chile flakes as desired.
  4. Once the chicken is done, pour the harissa sauce over it and toss to coat well in the sauce.
  5. To prepare the tahini ranch, combine tahini, lemon juice, chives, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Whisk in 1/4 to 1/2 cup water to achieve the desired consistency.
  6. Serve the chicken drizzled with tahini ranch, accompanied by home-cut fries for a delightful meal.

Notes

Ensure chicken is cooked through by checking internal temperature.
Adjust harissa according to your spice preference for a milder or spicier flavor.
Serve with fresh vegetables for added nutrition.
