Smashburger Salad

This Smashburger Salad combines the rich flavors of lean ground beef, melty cheddar cheese, and fresh veggies, making it a quick and satisfying meal option for health-conscious food lovers.

  • Total Time: 0 hours
  • Yield: 3 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • kosher salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 slices sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 10 ounces butter lettuce
  • 1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup chopped pickles
  • dill pickle vinaigrette, for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, and divide it into 4 pieces.
  2. Once the skillet is hot, press each piece of ground beef into the skillet, using a jar or spatula to smash it down. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, then flip and smash the other side until you achieve golden, crisp edges.
  3. Place a slice of cheddar over each smash burger. Let it melt completely, then remove the burgers from the skillet.
  4. In a bowl, toss the lettuce with a pinch of salt and pepper. Add the tomatoes and pickles. Tear or cut the smash burgers into pieces and scatter over the salad.
  5. Drizzle with dill pickle vinaigrette and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, try using a mix of spices on the beef before cooking.
Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet for better caramelization of the burgers.
Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
