Ingredients

  • 34 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 12 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • red pepper flakes (optional)
  • salt and pepper (optional)
  • 20 ounces turkey meatballs
  • 1 green onion (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, ground ginger, onion powder, garlic powder, and optional salt and pepper. Heat on medium or medium-high, stirring to mix.
  2. Introduce the meatballs into the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through. Taste the sauce and adjust flavors as desired with more hoisin, soy, or spices.
  3. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. For events, transfer to a slow cooker on low to keep warm.
