These Salty Potato Chip Rice Krispie Treats combine the sweetness of marshmallows with the crunch of kettle chips, making them an irresistible treat. Perfect for gatherings or a quick snack!

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (10 ounce ) bags mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups crushed kettle cooked potato chips
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until it bubbles and brown bits form, then lower the heat.
  3. Add 1 bag of marshmallows and ¼ of the second bag to the pot, stirring until fully melted and creamy. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in the rice krispies cereal with a large spatula. Once halfway mixed, add the crushed potato chips and continue mixing until well combined.
  5. Stir in the remaining marshmallows until they are well incorporated throughout the mixture. Press the mixture into the prepared pan using parchment paper to smooth the top.
  6. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between. Drizzle over the treats once melted.
  7. Allow the chocolate to set before cutting the treats into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the chocolate drizzle.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
