- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- ½ cup BBQ sauce, plus more for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare the baking tray.
- Mix spice rub ingredients in a bowl.
- Pat chicken dry and coat with the spice rub.
- Bake chicken uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Coat chicken with BBQ sauce and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For even cooking, ensure chicken pieces are of similar thickness.
Substitute your preferred BBQ sauce for customized flavor.
Add cayenne pepper to the spice rub for extra heat.
