- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 10 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- ½ cup (91 g) semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup crushed oreo cookies, about 5 to 6 cookies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring there is overhang for easy removal. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter until combined. Press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, combine softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend until just mixed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed Oreo cookies into the mixture and drop spoonfuls on top of the cheesecake layer.
- Use a knife to swirl the topping gently into the cream cheese filling for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 5 hours or until set; cool before slicing into bars.
Notes
For best results, ensure all dairy ingredients are at room temperature before mixing.
These bars can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
