Instructions

- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk and mix gently until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overmix; add extra milk if necessary.
- Press the dough evenly into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serve warm with butter or jam.
Notes
For best results, use cold butter straight from the fridge.
