Legendary Chocolate Chip Cookie (The Thin and Crispy!)

These Legendary Chocolate Chip Cookies are a delightful treat, perfectly thin and crispy with a rich flavor. Made with simple ingredients like butter, sugar, and chocolate chips, they’re ideal for anyone looking for an easy, homemade dessert.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 11 minutes
  • Yield: 3 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 and 1/4 cups (270g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 10 ounces unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 and 1/3 granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon milk, room temperature
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat the butter and both sugars on medium speed for about 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape the bowl as needed.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the milk.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture on low speed, and mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving 2 inches of space between each for spreading.
  7. Bake one tray at a time for 12 to 14 minutes, rotating halfway through the baking process.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Repeat for all dough.

Notes

Using room temperature ingredients helps achieve the right texture.
For extra flavor, consider using dark chocolate chips or adding nuts.
Ensure cookies are spaced apart to allow for spreading during baking.
