Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup honey (170g)
- ¼ cup brown sugar (packed, 50g)
- 1 tsp dijon mustard (5g)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (0.18 oz.)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper (freshly cracked)
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 lb. fully cooked smoked ham (boneless and spiral cut)
- ½ inch water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and gather all the ingredients.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and ground cinnamon. Heat over medium until everything is mixed well and the sugar dissolves, creating a slightly thickened glaze.
- Place the ham cut side down in a 9×13 casserole dish and brush half of the glaze over the ham evenly.
- Pour ½ inch of water into the bottom of the pan surrounding the ham.
- Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake for approximately 18-20 minutes per pound. For a 4lb ham, this would be around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Baste the ham with pan juices once or twice during the baking.
- Remove the foil for the last 20-30 minutes, brushing the ham with the remaining glaze every 10 minutes to achieve a golden-brown crust.
- After baking, allow the ham to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with any extra glaze drizzled over the slices.
Notes
Ensure the internal temperature of the ham reaches 140°F for safety and optimal flavor.
For added flavor, consider using a mix of different mustard types for the glaze.
The recipe can be easily adjusted for different ham sizes; just remember to alter the cooking time accordingly.
