Homemade Taquitos

These Homemade Taquitos are a mouthwatering treat filled with flavorful shredded beef, salsa, and spices. With easy prep and frying, they’re perfect for a quick meal or a fun snack!

Ingredients

  • 23 pounds beef chuck roast (or boneless pork shoulder)
  • 2 cups jarred salsa
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 36 corn tortillas
  • oil for frying (canola, corn, or vegetable)
  • toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Trim any excess fat from the meat and cut it into large chunks.
  2. Sprinkle the meat with seasoned salt, lemon pepper, and garlic salt.
  3. Pour salsa over the seasoned meat.
  4. Cook in the slow cooker on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or HIGH for 6 to 7 hours until the meat shreds easily.
  5. Shred the cooked meat in the slow cooker using two forks or transfer it to a bowl and use hand beaters.
  6. Mix the shredded meat with the cooking juices.

Notes

For crispier taquitos, fry them in smaller batches.
Feel free to add cheese or beans for extra flavor and texture.
