Ingredients
Scale
- 6 (1/2-inch) thick boneless pork chops (about 1.75 pounds)
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Season the pork chops liberally with salt and pepper. Allow them to rest while preparing the glaze.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, water, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 140ºF. Remove from the skillet and cover with foil to keep warm.
- Lower the heat slightly and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the glaze mixture. Bring to a boil and allow it to thicken slightly.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, coating them in the glaze. Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 145ºF.
- Serve the pork chops topped with the remaining glaze from the skillet.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the pork chops in the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking.
Adjust the cayenne pepper according to your spice preference.
Make sure to use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
