Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 tablespoons water
- 1 pound fresh green beans cleaned and trimmed
- ¼ cup salted butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- freshly ground salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the water in a medium lidded skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the cleaned and trimmed green beans to the skillet and steam them until the water evaporates, making sure to turn them to cook evenly.
- Once the water has evaporated, melt the butter in the skillet with the green beans.
- Fry the beans while stirring until they are tender-crisp, then add the minced garlic and cook for an additional two minutes until the beans are softened and the garlic is browned.
- Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the beans, toss well to coat, and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes while frying the beans.
Ensure the skillet is hot enough for the water to evaporate quickly for perfectly cooked beans.
