- ⅓ cup half and half (or whole milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cinnamon sugar (for dusting)
- Chocolate glaze (for dipping)
- Fruit jelly/jam, Nutella, or lemon curd (for filling)
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, salt, and optional spices in a medium bowl.
- In a larger bowl, whisk milk, egg, sugar, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually combine dry and wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 360°F-375°F.
- Scoop 2 teaspoons of dough into hot oil, frying until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, half and half, and vanilla until smooth.
- Coat fried donut holes in glaze, cinnamon sugar, or powdered sugar.
- Fill donut holes with desired fillings using a piping bag.
Notes
Ensure oil temperature is accurate for best results.
Avoid overcrowding the frying pan for even cooking.
Leftover donut holes can be stored for up to two days at room temperature.
