Ditalini Pasta with Bacon and Peas

This Ditalini Pasta with Bacon and Peas is a delightful dish that combines creamy sauce, crispy bacon, and tender pasta, making it an easy and satisfying option for dinner. Perfect for any night, this meal is both comforting and full of flavor!

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 5 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 454 grams ditalini pasta (1 lb)
  • 4 slices thick cut bacon (or 6 slices regular cut) chopped
  • 1½ cup frozen peas
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • reserved pasta water
  • salt and freshly cracked pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook ditalini just until al dente according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, cook bacon over medium-high heat in a large skillet until browned and crisp.
  3. Add the peas, cream, and Parmesan, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer gently, stirring often, until heated through.
  4. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the ditalini.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Stir in the reserved pasta water gradually, mixing until the sauce and pasta are well combined.
  6. Taste the dish and season with salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

For a lighter version, use turkey bacon instead of traditional bacon.
Feel free to add herbs like parsley or basil for extra flavor.
Make sure to reserve the pasta water; it helps to bind the sauce to the pasta.
