- 4 bell peppers any color
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon salt more to taste
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 19 ounces italian sausage links, hot or mild
Instructions
- Slice the bell peppers and onion, then add them to the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Add olive oil, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt. Toss them well to combine.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the mixture in the slow cooker.
- Optionally, brown the sausage links in a skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side.
- Place the browned sausages on top of the vegetables in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the sausages are fully cooked and the vegetables are tender.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of salt according to your taste.
For extra flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes to spice it up.
