Conversation Heart Valentine’s Day Rice Krispy Treats

These colorful heart-shaped treats combine chewy marshmallows and crispy cereal, making them a perfect festive snack for Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 20 ounces mini marshmallows
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 9 ounces Rice Krispies cereal
  • ½ cup each colored candy melts (white, pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (if needed)
  • Edible pen (optional)
  • 12 tablespoons butter (for hands/cookie cutter, if needed)

Instructions

  • Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat.
  • Stir in mini marshmallows until melted.
  • Add salt and vanilla extract, then mix in half of the Rice Krispies.
  • Fold in the remaining marshmallows and Rice Krispies.
  • Pour mixture into the prepared pan and press down evenly.
  • Cool for 10 minutes, then cut into heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
  • Melt candy melts in separate bowls, and decorate the hearts.
  • Write sweet messages with an edible pen once the coating sets.

Notes

Use low heat to prevent burning the marshmallows.
Experiment with candy melt colors for fun variations.
Apply non-stick spray on hands and utensils to reduce stickiness.
