  • 2 tablespoons (28g) butter , diced
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk and heat over medium until it reaches a boil, stirring frequently.
  3. Once boiling, continue to whisk constantly for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and diced butter, whisking until melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract, then transfer the pudding to a heat-safe bowl.
  6. Cover the surface of the pudding with wax paper, ensuring it touches the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
  7. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes at room temperature, then refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours until set.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to enhance the chocolate taste.
