  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups dry rotini pasta
  • 3 cups shredded swiss cheese
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 10.5-ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 34 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 sleeve ritz crackers, lightly crushed
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted
  • fresh parsley, optional for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a 9×13-inch casserole dish by spraying or greasing it lightly.
  2. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain, rinse, and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the shredded Swiss cheese, cooked chicken, diced ham, cream of chicken soup, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the filling mixture and stir together until combined.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared baking dish and gently smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. For make-ahead preparation, cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for up to 48 hours. Remove from the fridge an hour before baking to warm up.
  7. In another bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with Parmesan and drizzle with melted butter. Toss to mix, leaving some larger pieces.
  8. Sprinkle the cracker topping evenly over the filling in the casserole dish.
  9. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through for even browning. If the topping darkens too quickly, cover with foil for the second half of baking.
  10. Optionally garnish with parsley, allow to cool slightly, and then serve.

Notes

For a faster prep, use leftover rotisserie chicken and leftover ham.
Consider substituting the Swiss cheese with mozzarella or provolone for a different flavor profile.
If preparing in advance, allow the casserole to reach room temperature before baking for the best results.
