Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots

These Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are a delight with their sweet and rich flavor. Easy to prepare, they combine fresh carrots, brown sugar, and butter for a perfect side dish at dinner or any meal!

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs. carrots, peeled and sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • ¼ cup salted butter, cubed
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon freshly-squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, boil about 2 cups of water. Add the sliced carrots, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 7-9 minutes until crisp-tender.
  2. Drain the water and transfer the carrots to a bowl.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter, brown sugar, orange juice, and salt over medium heat. Allow the mixture to bubble gently for 2-3 minutes while stirring until slightly thickened and glossy.
  4. Return the carrots to the skillet and stir gently until they are well coated and warmed through, about 1 more minute.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar to suit your taste.
For an extra zest, consider adding a pinch of ginger or cinnamon to the glaze.
