Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 2 tsp cajun spice mix
  • 2 tsp light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 ripe avocado diced
  • 1 orange skin sliced off and chopped into chunks
  • ½ of a small red onion peeled and finely chopped
  • 20 g (1/2 packed cup) coriander (cilantro) leaves, finely chopped (stalks discarded)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper , thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • zest of one lime
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • pinch of salt and pepper
  • steamed/boiled rice
  • Chopped cucumber
  • Sesame seeds
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, using a liner for easy cleanup.
  2. Sprinkle the Cajun spice, brown sugar, salt, and pepper over the salmon, then drizzle or spray with oil.
  3. Air fry for 8-10 minutes at 200C/400F until the salmon is cooked through, adjusting time based on the thickness of the fillets.

Notes

For a milder option, substitute the jalapeno with your favorite fresh chili pepper.
Use fresh cilantro for the best flavor in the salsa.
