Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream shortening and sugar together until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla, beating well to combine.
- Alternate adding buttermilk and dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Prepare vanilla and chocolate frostings.
- Frost each cookie with half vanilla and half chocolate frosting.
