- 4 medium Bosc pears, peeled and cored
Instructions
- Combine water, sugar, bourbon, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla bean paste in a pot and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Peel and core the Bosc pears carefully.
- Place the pears in the simmering syrup, reducing heat to low simmer.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes, rotating every 5 minutes until slightly translucent.
- Remove pears and cool; simmer syrup for 15 minutes to thicken.
Notes
Choose ripe but firm Bosc pears for best results.
Watch cooking time closely for perfect texture.
Rotate pears while poaching for even flavor.
