- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk (or more as needed)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla (for glaze)
- 1–2 drops red liquid food coloring
- Valentine's Day-themed sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk together flour and baking powder in a bowl.
- Beat cold butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts; blend until smooth.
- Gradually mix in flour mixture on low speed.
- Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut cookies and place on a baking sheet.
- Freeze cookies for 5-7 minutes, then bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Prepare frosting by mixing butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
- Make glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and food coloring.
- Frost cookies and add sprinkles or dip in glaze.
Notes
Chill the dough for cleaner cuts.
Avoid rolling the dough too thin for chewier cookies.
Adjust milk in frosting for preferred consistency.
