Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line the baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, salt, and cocoa powder in a large bowl.
- Melt butter, oil, and ½ cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, yolk, and 1 cup of sugar until combined.
- Stir in vanilla extract and then add the melted butter mixture.
- Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Incorporate chocolate chips and optional add-ins without overmixing.
- Transfer batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 30 minutes for a 9-inch pan or 40 minutes for an 8-inch pan.
- Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
