- 1/2 lb pizza dough (about half of a fail-proof recipe)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus more for dipping, optional)
- 9 slices provolone cheese
- 9 slices salami
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese (freshly grated)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- Fresh basil (chopped, for garnish, optional)
- Grated parmesan cheese (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- Roll out the pizza dough to 10×16 inches.
- Spread pizza sauce over two-thirds of the dough.
- Layer salami, provolone, and mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
- Brush the plain dough strip with beaten egg, fold in sides, and roll tightly.
- Brush the rolled Stromboli with egg and cut slits on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for enhanced flavor.
Experiment with different fillings based on preference.
