This Stromboli combines pizza and savory bread into a delightful roll. Filled with melty cheese and your choice of meats, it’s perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (plus more for dipping)
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • 9 slices salami
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese (freshly grated)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Fresh basil (chopped, for garnish, optional)
  • Grated parmesan cheese (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out pizza dough to 10×16 inches on the baking sheet.
  • Spread pizza sauce over 2/3 of the dough, leaving a plain strip.
  • Layer salami, provolone, and mozzarella over the sauced part.
  • Brush the plain strip of dough with beaten egg.
  • Fold in sides of dough, then roll tightly from the filled edge.
  • Brush with remaining egg and cut diagonal slits on top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden-brown.
  • Garnish with basil and parmesan after baking.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
Avoid overloading fillings to prevent bursting while baking.
