  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup pink decorating sugar

Instructions

  • Cream together granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add the room temperature egg and mix until smooth.
  • Incorporate the food coloring, strawberry, and vanilla extracts.
  • Whisk together dry ingredients separately, then mix into the wet ingredients.
  • Shape dough into 1-ounce balls, roll in sugar, and dip in pink sugar.
  • Chill the dough balls on a baking sheet for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
