  • 1 ½ cups roughly chopped strawberries
  • 1 box refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tsp milk (for icing)

Instructions

  • Prepare strawberry water by boiling quartered strawberries in water, then strain.
  • Mix salt, sugar, and cornstarch. Combine with strawberry water and lemon juice and heat until thick.
  • Stir in roughly chopped strawberries.
  • Assemble pies using rolled-out pie crust, add filling, seal with egg wash, and create vents.
  • Bake at 450°F for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Prepare icing and drizzle over cooled pies before serving.
