- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

- 1 can prepared frosting or homemade icing
- Nonpareils or other candy decorations
Instructions
- Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Whisk flour and salt in a separate bowl; blend into the creamed mixture.
- Wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours.
- Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8 inch thick and cut out cookie shapes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for approximately 10 minutes.
- Once cooled, frost the edges of cookies and decorate with nonpareils.
- Assemble the cookies by stacking the shapes with frosting in between.
Notes
Ensure butter is at room temperature for easier creaming.
