- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Bright colored sanding sugar, for rolling
- 24 Hershey Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unwrap all 24 Hershey Kisses and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar, butter, and egg until fluffy. Add vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix flour and baking soda.
- Combine dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and combine to form a dough.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sanding sugar.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for about 7 minutes until edges are golden.
- Press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie right after baking.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheet.
Notes
Ensure the butter is softened, not melted, for the best texture.
Use high-quality vanilla extract for better flavor.
Be careful not to overbake; cookies should remain soft.
