Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Bright colored sanding sugar, for rolling
  • 24 Hershey Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unwrap all 24 Hershey Kisses and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar, butter, and egg until fluffy. Add vanilla.
  • In another bowl, mix flour and baking soda.
  • Combine dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and combine to form a dough.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sanding sugar.
  • Place on baking sheet and bake for about 7 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie right after baking.
  • Allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheet.

Notes

Ensure the butter is softened, not melted, for the best texture.
Use high-quality vanilla extract for better flavor.
Be careful not to overbake; cookies should remain soft.
