- 4 tablespoons butter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Grease a large baking sheet with olive oil.
- Peel the butternut squash and slice it lengthwise.
- Scoop out the seeds and chop the squash into 1-inch pieces.
- Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
- Roast for 20-25 minutes until tender and slightly browned, flipping halfway through.
- If desired, prepare browned butter and drizzle over the squash before serving.
Notes
Choose a heavy squash for ripeness and sweetness.
Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet for better caramelization.
Consider adding maple syrup for extra sweetness.
