- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water

- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 48 Ritz crackers
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
- Whipped cream for garnish
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves.
- Cook until deep amber, then whisk in salt and heavy cream.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Cool to room temperature.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add heavy cream and vanilla, beat until fluffy.
- Line a baking dish with plastic wrap, layer Ritz crackers, spread cream cheese mixture, drizzle salted caramel, and repeat.
- Refrigerate for at least 12 hours or overnight.
- Lift from pan, cut into squares, and serve with whipped cream and extra caramel.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is room temperature for smooth mixing.
Cool caramel sauce completely before layering.
Consider adding chocolate shavings or nuts for a unique presentation.
