Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely ground hazelnuts
  • 1 large egg

  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 15 red candies for noses
  • 30 black nonpareils for eyes
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  • Combine sugar cookie mix with finely ground hazelnuts.
  • Add egg, softened butter, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  • Divide dough, flatten into discs, wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll out chilled dough to 1/8-inch thick and cut out cookies.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Cut face shapes in half the cookies when warm.
  • Cool cookies before decorating with powdered sugar, Nutella, and candies.
