  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Add egg yolk and vanilla; combine well.
  • Gradually add flour mixture and red food coloring.
  • Roll dough into balls, coat with red sanding sugar.
  • Make an indentation in each cookie.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, fill with cream cheese mixture, and bake for another 10-12 minutes.
  • Cool on wire rack.
