- 3 cups All-purpose flour

- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Canola or vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups White granulated sugar
- 1 tsp White vinegar
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 3 Large eggs, room temperature
- 3/4 cup Sour cream or Greek yogurt, room temperature
- 1 cup Buttermilk, room temperature
- 1 tsp Red gel food coloring
- 4 oz Cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 cups Powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare cheesecake layer by beating cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then mix in flour, vanilla, and egg.
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Grease and line a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk oil, sugar, vinegar, vanilla, sour cream, eggs, buttermilk, and food coloring.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet, then layer half batter in the prepared pan, top with cheesecake mixture, and cover with remaining batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pan before transferring to rack.
- Make frosting by beating butter, then cream cheese, and adding sifted powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Spread frosting on cooled cake and decorate as desired.
