- 8 oz spaghetti or other preferred pasta
- 4 anchovies packed in oil
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 can (200g) tuna in oil
- 1 ½ cups tomato passata or crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp capers, drained
- ¼ tsp red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water per package instructions.
- Heat oil in skillet, add anchovies, and melt for two minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds; add tuna and heat through.
- Pour in boiling pasta water and let simmer.
- Add tomato passata and capers; simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Combine cooked pasta with sauce; toss to coat.
- Adjust seasoning and serve with parsley garnish.
Notes
Use high-quality canned tuna for the best flavor.
Watch the garlic to avoid overcooking.
Feel free to swap spaghetti for whole wheat or gluten-free pasta.
