- 3 cups Cachaça (or any white rum)
- 1 orange (peels plus slices for garnish)
- 1 lime (peels plus slices for garnish)
- 1 apple, sliced
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 inch piece of ginger, smashed
- 1 star anise (optional)
Instructions
- Melt sugar in a pot over medium heat until light gold.
- Add ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and fruit peels, stirring constantly.
- Slowly add water while stirring, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Mix in cachaça, keeping it at a low simmer.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let rest for 15 minutes.
- Serve in mugs garnished with fruit slices.
Notes
Ensure sugar is fully dissolved for a smoother drink.
Adjust sweetness by altering the sugar amount.
Let the Quentão sit longer for more intense flavors.
