  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice or ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 tsp maple extract (or substitute vanilla)
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp milk or cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉ and prepare a loaf pan.
  • Cream the softened butter and brown sugar in a large bowl.
  • Mix in the pumpkin puree and eggs until well combined.
  • Combine the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan.
  • Prepare the streusel by mixing melted butter, flour, brown sugar, and spices.
  • Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack and prepare the maple glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread and let it set before slicing.

Notes

Avoid over-mixing the batter to ensure a tender loaf.
Use room temperature ingredients for better results.
Check that your baking powder and baking soda are fresh.
