Ingredients

- 2 to 3 cups granulated sugar, to taste
- 1/4 cup bottled lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel, core, and dice the pears.
- Combine pears with sugar and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
- Refrigerate mixture for at least 12 hours.
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until thickened.
- Check for gel stage.
- Prepare jars and process in a hot water canner for 10 minutes.
- Cool jars completely before storing.
Notes
Choose ripe pears for the best flavor.
Adjust sugar based on pear sweetness.
Check seals after processing to avoid spoilage.
