Instructions
- Beat softened butter in a large bowl until creamy.
- Gradually mix in heavy cream until slightly curdled.
- Gently mix in flour and salt until just combined.
- Divide dough, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare work surface.
- Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick, cut with a cookie cutter.
- Roll cookies in granulated sugar, place on baking sheets.
- Prick cookies with a fork and bake for 7-8 minutes.
- Beat butter for frosting until smooth, blend in egg yolk and vanilla.
- Add powdered sugar and mix until creamy, adjusting consistency as needed.
- Frost half the cookies and sandwich with the remaining cookies.

Avoid skipping the chilling step for better texture.
