  • 1 cup lightly packed Brown Sugar (200 grams)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Old Fashioned / Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup M&Ms

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  • Prepare an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper or nonstick spray.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a larger bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients gently to avoid over-mixing.
  • Fold in oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms evenly.
  • Spread batter in prepared pan, topping with extra M&Ms or chocolate chips if desired.
  • Bake for 24 to 28 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
  • Allow bars to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
To adjust sweetness, reduce sugar or use unsweetened chocolate chips.
