- 8 slices rye bread
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup thousand island dressing
- 4 slices swiss cheese
- 1 cup sauerkraut drained and squeezed dry
- 16 ounces corned beef sliced
Instructions
- Butter each slice of rye bread generously.
- On a cutting board, place 4 slices, butter side down.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of thousand island dressing on each of these slices.
- Add a slice of swiss cheese on top, followed by ¼ cup of sauerkraut and ¼ of the corned beef.
- Spread the remaining thousand island dressing on another slice of bread and place it on top, butter side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and place the sandwich inside.
- Cook until the bread is golden and crisp, then flip to brown the other side.
- Once cooked, cut the sandwich in half and serve with extra dressing for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add more swiss cheese to your sandwich.
Feel free to adjust the amount of sauerkraut based on your taste preference.
Serve with pickles or chips as a delightful companion.
