- 2 3-inch strips orange peel
- 1 3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups (284ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 bottle dry red wine (e.g., Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1 cup (227ml) Grand Marnier liqueur
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
- 2 honeycrisp apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 oranges, thinly sliced
- 2 cups (454ml) raspberry seltzer or raspberry club soda
- Fresh mint sprigs for garnish
- Additional raspberries, citrus slices, and star anise pods for garnish
Instructions
- Combine water, honey, and spices in a saucepan; bring to boil and simmer.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, then cool and strain syrup.
- In a large pitcher, combine syrup, orange juice, wine, liqueur, and fruits; mix gently.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours to meld flavors.
- Before serving, stir and add seltzer for fizz.
- Serve in glasses with ice and garnish.
Notes
Use high-quality red wine for deeper flavor.
