  • 1 3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups (284ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 bottle dry red wine (e.g., Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 1 cup (227ml) Grand Marnier liqueur
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 2 honeycrisp apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups (454ml) raspberry seltzer or raspberry club soda
  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish
  • Additional raspberries, citrus slices, and star anise pods for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine water, honey, and spices in a saucepan; bring to boil and simmer.
  • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, then cool and strain syrup.
  • In a large pitcher, combine syrup, orange juice, wine, liqueur, and fruits; mix gently.
  • Refrigerate for at least 6 hours to meld flavors.
  • Before serving, stir and add seltzer for fizz.
  • Serve in glasses with ice and garnish.
