- 8 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped into bite-size pieces
- 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup crumbled bacon
- 1/2 cup raisins or Craisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Chop broccoli, red onion, and celery.
- Cook bacon to desired crispness and chop.
- Combine broccoli, red onion, celery, sunflower seeds, bacon, and optional raisins in a bowl.
- Whisk together sugar, mayonnaise, and vinegar for the dressing.
- Pour the dressing over salad ingredients and toss to coat.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use fresh broccoli for the best flavor.
Greek yogurt can replace mayonnaise for a healthier option.
