Lemon Butter Cod

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 45 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Pat cod fillets dry with a paper towel.
  • Season fillets with salt and pepper.
  • Melt 2 tbsp butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Cook cod for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove cod from the pan and keep warm.
  • Add remaining butter to the pan and melt, then squeeze in lemon juice.
  • Return cod to the pan and spoon sauce over it.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

Monitor heat to prevent burning the butter when making the sauce.
Adjust lemon juice for desired tanginess.
