Instructions
- Add black beans, water, salt, bay leaves, onion, garlic, and jalapeño to the Instant Pot.
- Secure the lid and set the bean setting for 40 minutes.
- Allow a slow release of pressure for 15 minutes before performing a quick release.
- Remove bay leaves and jalapeño, stir in cilantro, and top with queso fresco before serving.
Notes
Rinse and sort beans before cooking to ensure quality.
Adjust jalapeño for desired spice level.
For creamier beans, consider adding vegetable broth or cream after cooking.
