- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon food coloring (your choice)
- 3–5 drops of flavoring (such as cherry or cinnamon)
- Sucker sticks
- Candy thermometer
Instructions
- Prepare molds by placing sucker sticks and spraying them with non-stick spray.
- Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves.
- Monitor the mixture until it reaches 300°F on the candy thermometer.
- Stir in food coloring and flavoring once hard crack stage is reached.
- Pour the mixture into prepared molds and cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove suckers from molds gently. If necessary, firm them up briefly.
Notes
