Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Make a well and add warm water, butter, and egg; mix to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a log; place it on a baking sheet.
- Let it rise again, covered, for 1.5 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375°F, brush dough with butter and sprinkle seasoning.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Ensure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
For the best results, use a thermometer; bread is done when it reaches 190°F.
